Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Charter Schools, Education, Secondary & High Schools
Mission: The mission of The Chiles Academy is to combine a community of support and guidance for pregnant and parenting students with the goal of attaining a high school diploma which will empower them to become independent and responsible citizens.
Results: As a dropout prevention program serving a population with the highest mobility rate in the country, we graduate approximately 20 students each year with a standard high school diploma.
Target demographics: We are a public charter school serving pregnant and parenting teens and their children in Volusia County, FL. We are also the only Early Head Start provider in Volusia County and we also provide child care and transportation for the children and families in a local homeless center.
