Causes: Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services, Foster Care, Human Service Organizations, Human Services, Youth Development Programs
Mission: The mission of Children’s Dream Adventures is to assist grieving children and their families with coping after a tragic loss and providing them, as well as Foster Families with all-expenses paid vacation of their own design, as well as additional programs to holistically improve client outcomes. Children’s Dream Adventures vision is to provide disadvantaged children facing difficult circumstances with hope, joy, experiences, knowledge, and opportunities to assist them to live a happy and productive life
Results: We received our 501(c)3 in June 2022, and since we have helped approximately 75 children by providing group activity trips and personal hygiene kits to a large group foster home hit by Hurricane Ian. We will be co-hosting a Young Eagles Rally with a local chapter this Spring. In Sept. 2023 we will be co-hosting a Wildland Firefighter Academy with the Florida Forest Service for the transitional age foster and grieving children we serve. This will be a 7-day wildland firefighter academy providing the certifications necessary to obtain entry level employment with federal and state agencies, as well as private wildland fire contractors. CDA will also be assisting graduates with the application process and job placement. Lodging will be provided in the training center dormitories, in addition to all meals being provided on-site at the cafeteria.
Target demographics: Grieving Children and Foster Kids
Direct beneficiaries per year: We received our 501(c)3 in June 2022, and since then we have helped over 150 children by providing group activity trips, online financial literacy classes, referrals for free mental health therapy for foster youth, Free gov't ID's for foster children, family adventures. We are also co-hosting a free wildland firefighter academy with the FL Forest Service. We also helped to provide personal hygiene kits to a large group foster home hit by Hurricane Ian.
