The CCHAT Center of Sacramento is more than a school or non-profit. They are a blessing to our community. They provided our profoundly deaf daughter the opportunity to learn spoken language. Additionally they provided us educational tools to help us (family) understand that assisted listening devices do not set limitations on our deaf daughter. They empowered my daughter with lifelong confidence that will carry forward to a limitless future.
CCHAT is our extended family. Our daughter is flourishing because of their dedication, support, and love.

We started with CCHAT in 2012 and graduated from the program in 2020. We learned about hearing loss and how to navigate the world with hearing loss. We value the knowledge gained by attending CCHAT and how to advocate for our hearing needs. My daughter found her voice through the extensive speech therapy program and continues to excel with the tools obtained by CCHAT. We would not be as advanced in learned spoken language without the help of The CCHAT Center.
Our son attended CCHAT Sacramento for 4 1/2 years!! Without this program to not just teacher him how to listen and use his voice but to educate out family on how to best help him away from school. When our son mainstreamed to out neighborhood school I felt well equipped to advocate for him. So many of the staff have become family to us.
CCHAT offers outstanding educational programs for children in the community who are deaf/hard of hearing. My child benefited greatly from the Baby and Me Program as well as the Toddler School aged program. The teachers, SLP’s and staff are extremely supportive. We are very grateful for all that CCHAT has to offer.
This is the only oral school for the deaf in Northern California. Each child receives individualized speech and listening skills therapy. After children graduate, they can join their elementary school and be successful in activities like their hearing peers. All the teachers have deaf and hard-of-hearing credentials. Students attend this school free charge. We are so fortunate to have this school in the Greater Sacramento area.
CCHAT changed my life. I was one of two teachers hired when CCHAT opened with 12 children. For 17 years of my teaching career I watched the lives of children and families change in a profound way. The grief parents experienced finding out that their child was deaf transformed into joy as they saw their child learn to listen and talk. The commitment of families and staff to this mission is nothing short of miraculous. Over the past 26 years CCHAT has become the most outstanding program in Northern California for deaf and hard of hearing children learning to listen and speak. It continues to offer services to all families at no cost. Come and listen to the children singing and dancing and laughing and talking. You will be inspired.
