Mission: To be the leading advocate for delaware's children. We provide creative prevention and treatment programs that meet the changing needs of families. We serve dependent, neglected, and abused children and their parents. We provide programs for those involved in domestic violence situations, especially children. By protecting the victims and treating those responsible for acts of domestic violence, we help children heal.
Programs: Domestic violence services - the organization operates 2 shelters for battered women and their children and provides shelter for battered men. The agency also operates supervised family visitation centers. During 2017, 893 adults and children used these facilities. Related services offered include: maintenance of a domestic violence hotline, counseling and therapy for victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, victim advocacy, and transitional services for victims. During 2017, 2,046 calls were serviced through the hotline, and 2,704 individuals utilized other related services.
emergency housing for children/youth - the organization provides temporary housing for neglected, dependent, and abused children. During 2017, 72 children were served under this program.
family support and parent education services - the organization provides statewide parent education services and community/agency based family support programming. Programming includes case management, counseling and the operation of family resource centers. During 2017, 10,605 individuals were served under this program.
