This nonprofit has taken on an exciting adventure. They are documenting how to train and integrate a therapy dog at a kids house. They are hoping to expand the program to all sites that serve children ages zero through 18 who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. Sadie Mae is the therapy dog. She will help children feel more secure before they have to be interviewed by officials to determine if abuse or neglect has taken place.
It is amazing to me how such a small group of volunteers managing to "stay in business." This year they have even started televising the meeting over the Internet so that more people can participate. The start of the training for the therapy dog, Rosie Mae, is REALLY exciting. The Board is hoping that a lot of children from multiple sites that work with children in the foster care system will eventually be able to participate in the program - everyone wants a dog of their own! It seems 4 paws and a furry coat makes a wonderful therapist. It is my understanding that it may take 2-3 years to totally train the one puppy. I hope it all goes well. Keep up the great work, Child Guardians. We are rooting for you to have the best year, yet.
Review from Guidestar
This non-profit, Child Guardians Inc. of Pensacola, is just amazing! They have been very busy! During this last year that provided items of need to more than 350 children. All of the children had confirmed cases of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Without a Director, this all-volunteer organization works collaboratively with 5 agencies in the community. Last year they received an incredible $25,000 donation from the Pensacola Charitable Open, a golf tournament raising funds for nonprofits. They also received $5,000 from Armstrong World Industries. It is wonderful to be recognized for work well done.

This all-volunteer Board does amazing things for kids. 100% of the funds that they raise for children - GO TO CHILDREN! They have a tiny administrative cost that is covered by additional donations from board members, and other donations. Help them out by checking out their web site: www.beaguardian.org
I can not believe how many children this small nonprofit helps! They truly amaze me. 99% of the funds raised go directly to children.
This week they helped a young lady get her wisdom teeth removed. Medicaid will only pay for 2 teeth. Don’t the Feds know that most children have 4 wisdom teeth?! Anyway, CGI WAS HAPPY TO HELP. I am proud to know the members of this group. If the world could just operate the way they do, we would all live in a better place. Thank you, CGI for all you do for our most vulnerable children- those that have suffered the trauma of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
We love helping our kiddos!! Here's a thank you from a young man getting to start college because of CGI :o)

If I had to come up with a phrase for the wonderful people at Child Guardians, Inc., I would simply say "they have the backs of children in foster care." If a child has a need, and that need meets their mission statement, they meet that need. They will do anything anytime, pretty much anywhere to make sure that the children who have been abused, abandoned, and neglected have as normal a life as is possible. They have provided school supplies, clothing, fees for sports activities, tickets for special events, and, their entire board participated in our annual Breakfast With Santa, bringing hundreds of gifts! They truly have hearts for our children! Thank you! I am so pleased to see you recognized as one of the My Fathers Arrows 100! Steve Allen, Kaffey Hinds, Lon Roberts, Mary Bush, Carol Stuart Calfee

Dear Brandon Fund Donors,
Our family wants to express our sincere gratitude for your help with our Disney pass for one of our foster children. My husband and I have always striven to treat everyone that has come into our home as an instant part of a family. Vacations to Disney World are a precious time for our family. It is a time away from court dates and therapy appointments and caseworker visits when we can just PLAY TOGETHER and bond as a family. Your contribution helped us be able to do that with less of a financial burden. We have 10 kiddos right now and ou Disney trip is EVERYONE'S FAVORITE THING!
Child Guardians is a fantastic non-profit organization writing "mini-grants" for abused, neglected children for various needs/wants. These could be for medical care or assistance with sports participation.
What an on-time gift! Understanding that back to school shopping is especially stressful for foster parents, Child Guardians, Inc. donated $500 in school supplies and backpacks that will be kept for kids who come into foster care after school starts! All the foster parents have to do is come to the My Father's Arrows Thrift Store to get their free school supplies, clothing and shoes and their new kids will be set for school. A HUGE thank you to Steve Allen, Kaffey Hinds, Mary Bush and the entire Child Guardians Inc. board for your wonderful generosity!
I am David. Also known as "Yigertail" or Extraextra." The last time I went to the Academy. I Learned how to pilot the X one to Triad and I have a stick! I've had a ton of fun at this wonderful program and I wish to return again. My brother "fun ball" has been so hyped about. I sincerely want to go back to this program. If my letter is good and I seem to be sincere please let me come! Open quotes " que the puppy eyes and ice cream".
Forever and sincerely grateful, David Perdue
To whom it may concern,
I went to the Naval Flight Academy last year it was the best thing I experienced. It was very educational. You lear math, science, engineering, and communication with each other. I met friends I already knew and friends that were new to me. Naval Flight Academy was an inspiration for me if I was to pick a job it would be a navy pilot. If you want to rate it we'll give you more than a five star. If I had the give opportunity to return...I will be grateful and honored to come back again.
Sinicerely,
Marisha

I would really, really like to go. My friend told me that he had a great time. I know I will learn a lot. Please consider me.

I was able to attend last year and enjoyed my time learning and making new friends that week. Thank you for considering me for the change to attend again this year.

I'm very impressed with all the hard work by caring individuals in this organization. I've worked with families impacted by the money that the organization raises and donates for children who are victims of violence and neglect.
I have heard about the children that this organization has helped. I am amazed at how much they do with so little. Almost every cent they raise goes directly to children who are abused, neglected or abandoned. I wish I could give them a million dollars to do everything that they want to. I would trust them with every cent!

Child Guardians, Inc. is dedicated to assisting and aiding children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. This truly is a great nonprofit. The organization is comprised of an all volunteer board. Every member of the board works for the cause without receiving any personal benefit in return.

Child Guardians is amazing. They make a little bit of money go a long way. I'm so happy they are here for abused, neglected and abandoned children. I don't see how they do it. They don't have an executive director so all of their money goes to children. Cool! I wish other nonprofits were like this one.
This is the most incredible group of all volunteers I have ever encountered. Nearly 100% of their donations go directly to the abused and neglected children in the region. Nearly 2,000 children will benefit from this amazing groups tireless fund raising endeavors. REMEMBER - it is for the children.
Child Guardians, Inc. volunteers continue working to provide direct support to children who have suffered abuse.
I've been a member of this board for almost five years and I've enjoyed every minute. Being able to give children something to make them have a little more joy in their lives makes anyone feel good. Looking forward to continuing our work.

Child Guardians Inc., is a small board of caring people, devoted to taking care of the needs of children, that have been abused, abandoned and neglected. They provide resources for the children to have a normal life. The children are in the court system at no fault of their own. Some are placed in foster care, group homes or with family members. The state only provides money for the children basic needs like; food and shelter. Child Guardians Inc., provides those things outside the box. The children have already been traumatized by being removed from their home. If the children want to go to; football, baseball, cheer leading camps, field trips, need computers for school, etc. anything outside the box Child Guardians Inc., takes care of it. The children see their friends doing things and they want to participate, Child Guardians Inc. is there to help.
This organization is dedicated to children, who have suffered abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Every child deserves to feel loved and special. The members of this organization work together with the local communities to assist these children by providing that "something extra" (whatever it may be - prom dress, band instrument, summer camp, field trip, or holiday gift); beyond the basic sustenance.
I love being a part of Child Guardians Inc. due to what we do for the children in the community. We have help so many kids to have normality in their life. We have help kids obtain medical equipment that the State would not pay for. We have also paid for beds, baseball programs, clothes and also paid for tutoring. One of the most outstanding things that we have provided for kids is to send five kids to a Flight Academy which they would not have been able to attend without the help of Child Guardians Inc. Also keep in mind that all of the monies that we receive from donation goes for the children. We, as volunteers, do not have any overhead.
Child Guardian helps give opportunities to kids that would not have them otherwise. From taking special classes from the Naval Air Museum in hopes to inspire future pilots to providing clothing and other daily needs for kids who have been in rough experiences in their lives. Child Guardian is 100% for the kids. No board member gets paid for the help provided.
This organization provides wonderful support for children who are in the foster care system. It provides funding for items that enhance the child's life and that cannot be funded through the foster care system. We have been able to send children to an Aviation Academy in the summer, fund childcare to keep siblings together, and provide computer technology to an adolescent, among other things.
We can always use your financial support to expand the number of children we help.
Our community is so grateful to have Child Guardians committed to the youth of Pensacola. So many children need just a little extra support to thrive and flourish and Child Guardians has supported many children in our area by providing the support needed. This organization and its volunteers are definitely appreciated. Thank you!
This non-profit is a Board made up of many involved community business partners. They work with the children in our local counties that have been abandoned, abused or neglected . They assist financially with many things the state is unable to provide. Meeting needs that assist these children with having a fuller learning environment, school experience and healthier lives. I am honored to be a part of their efforts.
Child Guardian Inc is a wonderful organization that supports children in need in the foster care system by providing educational tools, tutoring, glasses, dental, etc. CGI also provides sports registrations and uniforms in addition to many other services so these children can grow up living life like other children. Wonderful, wonderful organization!
Great program for the good the kids ...I witnessed the board in action recently during a fundraising event… They are for sure dedicated to helping children
Always putting the children first. Making sure all their needs are met and going above in some cases to fulfill some dreams! Great job helping make sure that the children are taken care of.
Nothing is more rewarding than working with a group of people who all have the same passion, to help children; to make a positive impact in their lives, to help foster their learning and create opportunities for them. It's amazing to be surrounded by such selfless individuals who dedicate themselves freely and without reservation and is by far, one of the most rewarding experiences I've had the pleasure to be a part of. Child Guardians, Inc is a phenomenal nonprofit that helps children in need! Check out the website to learn more: beaguardian.org
This is a great non-profit charity that changes the lives of the children it serves. It allows children in difficult situations normalcy and to live to their fullest potential.
It has been a wonderful and fulfilling experience to be s longtime member of the committed all-volunteer CGI Board. As a mission focused group, with no office, phone, and nearly zero overhead, we have met the needs of hundreds of children who have been abused, abandoned, and neglected in our area. We remain committed to assisting these children---sadly the numbers of children with unmet needs only increase. Although we never meet the children ; as we respect privacy, we hope that any positive difference we can make for a child will ripple as positives for our whole community.
