nij - collaborative effort to collect national level data to convene stakeholders to identify and share best practices; and to conduct innovative research and evaluate pilot projects in school districts to yield new insights and evidence about what works and what does not, when it comes to school discipline, violence and bullying reductions, school resource officers, mental health professionals and justice interventions like youth courts.
nih - teen dating violence - a research based project that looks at the issue of violence involving teens in a rural setting. The extensive research project involves 549 students in chesterfield county, sc schools along with one caregiver of each student. Every year over the course of 4 years, both the student and caregiver are surveyed about experiences and attitudes on the subjects of dating/ dating violence and use/abuse of a variety of substances. Also surveyed each year are school personnel, law enforcement and staff in youth serving organizations.
