Causes: Community & Neighborhood Development, Economic Development
Mission: Chesire community action team, inc. , (ccat) is created for the purposes of preserving the properties and the promotion of the welfare of the community and residents of the hamlet of cheshire in the town of canandaigua and the county of ontario.
Programs: Memorial day commemoration ceremony-includes historical fact sharing, honoring of veterans in community, community wide event to gather people for learning history of hamlet, town, country, free event for adults and children, kids involved in decorations and processional, fire dept included and displayed for community awareness. Quilt scholarship-incorporates a fundraising quilt made by local quilters, open to community high school students for a scholarship fund, students must identify community involvement in essay format. Halloween event-safe and constructive family event for halloween festivities, free and almost-free activities and food, includes volunteers of all ages inside and outside of the communitycheshire meeting house fundraising events- musical benefits, open houses, information sharing activities, community based dialogues etc. General town/community safety and support-attendance at local government meetings, integration and support of town and hamlet goals, identifying current needs and seeking input from authorities (street safety, park upkeep etc. ). Local history project-on-going effort to collect and preserve materials , archive documents of local history, collect data on hamlet houses and style/use/history. Total number of people effected by various outreach: 1000-1500.
