Mission: To empower low income residents to protect and improve our own communities through collective action.
Programs: The phar internship program selects residents of public housing to learn about policy, build skills, engage in community organizing, and develop leadership skills to support community improvements. The program has been running since 1999 and has graduated over 64 residents to date.
phar's work in redevelopment includes community education, community organizing and advocacy. Phar serves in city-sponsored redevelopment committees, sponsors workshops, publishes the positive vision for resident -directed redevelopment, educates the public about options and opportunities for improving the quality of life for public housing residents.
