Mission: The organization's exempt purpose is to educate general public on theatrical art.
Programs: 2/2/2017 - felix pinckney community center the stylze program is a community service project in its second year designed by school of the arts students, ( 3rd 5th graders) enrolled in their after school program. As part of the theatre and visual arts segment, cbt was invited to present a platform for how the arts can shape lives and encourage personal growth. We created the concept of growing the arts. (work hours: 16 hours including travel)4/7/2017 sanders clyde creative arts career day, cbt was invited as a guest speaker for a full day. Growing the arts was our theme describing the personal development that the arts offer in our everyday lives, such as reading, learning to play an instrument, singing and dance. Adding to this was architecture, building a set e. G. Carpentry, and painting, as well as wardrobe design and tailoring, electrical engineering and sound systems, creative writing, etc. (hours: 16 hours including travel)4/17/2017 sanders clyde middle school again, asked for our assistance in a joint community effort with other local organizations to help the 6th 8th grade students create vision-boards, and discuss how this exercise would give them a broader view of their future goals and aspirations by identifying role models in various occupations. (hours: 16 hours including travel)7/13/2017 st. Johns high school cbt was asked to help create an arts program since the school was not funded for the 2017/18 music and arts curriculum. Cbt developed a workshop/festival called, walking in their shoes festival of the arts. We put together an ensemble of artists, musicians, storytellers, singers, poets, stage performers and dancers for a full day of creative arts. The festival was scheduled for september 9, 2017, but cancelled due to hurricane irma). Rescheduled for second semester, february 9, 2018. The participants received an honorarium directly from the school. (project hours: 60 hours including travel). 8/1/2017 cbt attended the national black theatre workshop/festival, winston-salem, n. C. - which provides theatre companies and artists a full week of viewing new plays to bring to the respective theatre. Cbt will be producing george washingtons boy written by ted lange for black history month 2018. (project time: july 31st to august 5th , including travel).
