Causes: Federated Giving Programs, Philanthropy
Mission: The Charles Barker Champions for Kids charity foundation launched in 1994 with the mission to raise funds in financial support of community programs and scholarships for the underprivileged and at-risk youth of Hampton Roads. We believe that investing in a child’s future is just as important as investing in our business. Charles Barker Champions for Kids is a Section 501(c)3 charitable organization committed to the belief that the future of our community is dependent on the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of our youth. The foundation hosts several fundraising events throughout the year in support of its mission. Our premier event is an annual golf tournament held each October at the Bayville Golf Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In tournament tradition, all proceeds go to benefit the many fine organizations dedicated to making a deep and sustaining difference in the lives of our children.
Results: Since 1994 we have raised over 3.5 million dollars and impacted the lives of thousands of children and teens in the cities of Virginia - Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, Chesapeake, Hampton, Williamsburg, Portsmouth, Smithfield, Suffolk and Franklin.
