Mission: Under the direction of Rabbi Levi Y. Klein and his wife Rivky, Chabad Lubavitch of Tennessee, founded in mid-1994 offers youth programs, adult education courses, community holiday awareness celebrations and hospital, nursing home and shut-in visitations. Many have experienced traditional Shabbat and Holiday meals at the Chabad House. In addition, many have benefited from the Rabbi's counseling. Chabad Lubavitch is fast becoming a "one-stop" address for the many needs of the Memphis Jewish community. The mission statement of Chabad of Tennessee reads as follows. Through the Chabad Lubavitch philosophy of Ahavat Yisrael - unconditional love and concern for every Jew, regardless of religious background or affiliation. Cahabad Lubavitch of Tennessee provides synagogue services, spiritual guidance, community outreach and education to inspire all Jews to discover their common bond of Jewish faith and observance. Chabad Lubavitch of Tennessee's numerous programs and activities provide the education and means to promote Jewish knowledge, awareness and practice to experience our Jewish heritage connecting us to our past, present and future. Chabad Lubavitch of Tennessee encourages positive action on the part of each Jew and offers its educational programs to all Jewish organizations, synagogues and groups in its efforts to increase Jewish knowledge and observance.
