Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Judaism, Religion

Mission: Chabad of Flatbush is committed to maintaining a welcoming Jewish community with educational, social and cultural programs. We are dedicated to making the beauty and joys of our Jewish traditions and heritage accessible, relevant, and meaningful. Chabad is a Jewish movement with a bold vision and philosophy. A place where every Jew is welcome. The philosophy is to be inclusive of all Jews, regardless of their background. With over 4,000 emissaries around the globe, Chabad is the largest Jewish outreach organization in the world today. Our Sages point to the final Redemption as the ultimate purpose for the creation of the world. G-d created the world to have a "dwelling place among mortals," and this goal will be realized in the Era of the Redemption. For centuries now, the Jewish people have been consciously or unconsciously constructing G-d's dwelling, and now, it is emerging before our very eyes. This, in essence, is Chabad's goal - preparing ourselves and the world for the coming of Moshiach. We are dedicated to helping every Jew, regardless of background, affiliation, or personal level of observance, to increase their level of Jewish knowledge and commitment. We offer recreational and religious programming for adults, children, teens, and seniors. Chabad is a home where all Jews are welcome no matter the affiliation, denomination or lifestyle. We give you the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of your Jewish heritage.

They've really outgrown their location.
Whenever I'm there for a function, I'm always impressed with them. They have a small location on ocean Ave, surrounded by big buildings.. if only they'd have a building of their own, I'm sure they'd use it to it's capacity!

Rabbi Liberow and his family give off such a warm vibe when you enter their Chabad house. When my family first moved to Flatbush, Rabbi Liberow approached us with a smile and made us feel at home. The family constantly invited us over for Shabbos, and all their incredible events. The work that they do is tremendous. Wherever I go, I always see their Mitzvah Tank.

Just recently I bumped into someone that I haven't seen in years and was so impressed at the way he grew in terms of Judaism, he told me it's all thanks to Chabad of Flatbush. He was telling me that not only has Chabad inspired him, but there are a lot of other young men (college age) that have been inspired and continue to get inspired at the Chabad house and I was impressed.

Was stuck b4 the holidays, no synagogue to go... When a friend told me Chabad has open doors. A quick online search let me to Chabad of Flatbush.
I was warmly welcomed by Rabbi Zalman Liberow, who with loving smile and big bushy red beard :) handed me a Siddur and a brand new Talit.
It was a awesome experience. The Rabbi's son-in-law kept on making sure I had what I needed, and I felt really at home.
They have a wonderful community, and I'm happy to have found them.
