CERTIFICATION FOR THE INCARCERATION

Greetings! My name is Rosa Minter and I'm a volunteer for Certification For The Incarceration, CFTI for short.. In June of 2008, I was listening to a local Grand Rapids radio station (AM 1140)when I heard the voices of Kurt Glover and Professor Paul Zimmerman. Kurt and Paul were on the air-waves broadcasting their prison ministry and educational services. It was during this time that something spoke to me that said; "you are going to work for this company, for free." In my heart, I knew I could not be around ex-offenders because I could not trust them. How wrong I was! I have been volunteering for this nonprofit for 7 months now, and I love everyone who comes through the doors. Executive Director Kurt Glover believes in "second chances" for everyone. Especially here in Michigan of which we are the number one unemployment state. CFTI's program is so great and effective, that we have more job openings than people to fill the jobs. Actually, we are backwards of the norm. Kurt and Paul are so professional in their employment readiness training that employers are competing against one-another to hire a graduate of our program. Many of my friends have also took advantage of their curriculum and have now become successful back into society once released from prison. Their website receives 20,000 visitors per month because of the great resources that are on it. www.cfti.jobs I have seen in action many other nonprofits doing the same as CFTI, but none of them operate in the love as this one does....Rosa Minter. In my professional opinion, CFTI should be recognized and awarded in having the best employment readiness training than anyone else, especially in Michigan!
