Mission: The mission of centro hispano cuzcatlan is to improve the quality of life of central americans and the hispanic community in new york city. We organize and educate community residents on such issues as housing, immigration, health, employment, and education. In addition, we promote the preservation of ethnic community cultural values and stimulate community participation in the civic life of the united states and our countries of origin.
Programs: Community based organization
organizing and developing six tenant associations with leadership teams for long-term stability. Mobilizing tenants to queens housing courts. Mobilizing tenants to file complaints with nys division od housing and community renewal. Creation of the rufus king park neighbors association. Creation of the centro hispano cuzcatlan immigration task force. Publication of our bi-monthly newsletter nuestra gente, which encourages the cultural arts and captures local community and international news.
