Nonprofit Overview
Mission: Centro cultural promotes education and economic development, increases cultural consciousness, responds to community needs and celebrates understanding among the diverse groups in our community
Programs: Workforce development this year we launched centro de prosperidad workforce development center through a contract with the city of hillsboro. We provide job training and placement service and help remove barriers to employment. Latino senior program we provide culturally - specific meals and programming to low-income senior citizens once a week in our main hall. We provide educational and health-related programs and physical movement activities (tai chi and senior zumba) to improve their well-being. We provide stem and lego robotics programming for youth on saturdays and during our 4-week long summer program for children in k-9th grades. Through our workforce center we offer computer literacy and ged tutoring for job-seekers and other occupational language supports to employers for their employees. We provide information and referral (i&r), systems navigation, translation and interpreting services for non-english speaking individuals.
