Mission: The center for vascular awareness was formed to educate the general public regarding the field of vascular medicine and to educate the underserved in an effort to help them help their doctor; to carry on research with respect to the field of vascular medicine and to encourage and participate in the continuing education of physicians and other scientists in the field of vascular medicine by means of scientific sessions, publications and such other instructional programs.
Programs: The organization will facilitate research trials regarding regulatory physiological effects of vascular diseases and surgical procedures on cardiopulmonary function, as well as the effects of organ and limb function.
educational programsthe center hosts the albany vascular roundtable several times each year. These roundtables draw between 300 to 400 medical professionals. Leading experts in the vascular field and other medical specialists from around the country are brought together to discuss and present current issues. The center hosts the vast, a three day, comprehensive case-based vascular educational meeting that challenges the skills of its participants. The vast meeting focuses on problem solving approaches to complex vascular procedures and complications using cutting edge techniques and technologies.
the center has created the albany vascular international academy (avia). Physicians from around the world come to participate in the unique hands-on training program provided by (avia). Individuals observe the latest cutting edge technologies, procedures and treatments in vascular medicine.
