The Center remains steadfast in its efforts to create and sustain equitable public schools in the Greater Los Angeles area. While the task may be rigorous, the Center is equipped with the staff and knowledge base to drive the push towards more equitable schools for students from all walks of life.
I have the pleasure of partnering with the Center's staff--their commitment to improving our schools for all students is clear in their work and their levers for change. Jeanne has extensive knowledge and a strong network. She makes a huge impact that is often understated
The Center for Powerful Public Schools (The Center) is a true partner in our efforts to support students, parents and teachers in Los Angeles. They are both a thought-partner and ally! United Way of Greater Los Angeles is proud to partner with The Center in our efforts to bring equity to schools through smarter policy, on-the-ground advocacy, and the implementation of Linked Learning in LA County.
I have worked with several Center staff members in various capacities and found each of them to be knowledgeable, dedicated and committed to improving the education environment and experiences for all public education students. The work done with our district in coaching, project based learning and implementation of Linked Learning helped us to strategically address equity, student achievement and engagement. The Center is cognizant of the unique characteristics of each education entity they work with. This allows them to facilitate the change process but districts to take ownership for sustainability.
Coming from a research perspective, the Center utilizes every asset its members brings to the table. By doing so, it ensures that everyone has a seat at the table when discussing problems in practice, equity stances, and approaches to social justice. The diversity exhibited by the staff is representative of their endeavors to develop, support, and uplift historically underrepresented communities in the greater Los Angeles area.

The organization prides itself on being a strong advocate and supporter of work that allows students with a high-quality education.
It's an interesting group. I've been around education reform and advocacy for better schools from a private sector perspective, and this group gets it.
I've been privileged to work with Center for Powerful Public Schools for the past six years and you will not find a smarter, more committed group of people anywhere. The people of the Center put equity in education at the front and center of everything they do.
