Mission: The Center for Migration Studies of New York (CMS) is an educational institute/think tank devoted to the study of international migration, to the promotion of understanding between immigrants and receiving communities, and to public policies that safeguard the dignity and rights of migrants, refugees and newcomers.
Programs: The organization accomplished the following: 1. Published the international migration review (imr), a quarterly, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal on international migration. 2. Published a special, ground-breaking 50th anniversary edition of imr, with contributions from leading scholars throughout the world. 3. Published the journal on migration and human security (jmhs), an on-line, refereed publication featuring issues, perspectives and policy ideas that receive insufficient attention in the national and global immigration debate. 4. Authored a book published by lateran university press entitled "us catholic institutions and immigrant integration: can the church rise to the challenge? " 5. Sponsored regular seminars, symposia and dialogues on us and global migration issues.
