Mission: The center for jackson hole's mission is to bring together the various groups of people who have interests in public lands for the purpose of investing in and protecting the future of such lands.
Programs: Shift (shaping how we invest for tomorrow) is an annual festival held each autumn in jackson hole. The festival explores issues at the intersection of conservation, outdoor recreation, and cultural diversity. The 2017 shift festival explored the business case for public lands: how investment in outdoor recreation and the conservation of public lands promote prosperity in communities around america. Over 500 individuals from 32 states and several canadian provinces attended the event.
the emerging leaders program trains a diverse group of outdoor recreationalists to help revitalize conservation by making it relevant to all americans. In conjunction with the teton science schools, participants receive three days of training in advance of the shift festival, then lead the proceedings as panelists, moderators, and keynote speakers. 36 individuals were chosen to participate in the 2017 rendition of the program.
