Programs: Right start serves families associated with allegheny county department of human services, office of children, youth and families, that have experienced risk factors associated with child maltreatment. The program attempts to enhance the functioning of these families by working with parents and children to foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development of the children from conception to five years of age. male coalition (stand) works to strengthen families by helping teenage, young adult, and adult males address issues that hinder their personal development and tend to separate them from their families. The program also offers support services to single mothers who are raising adolescent male children. In addition to meetings with individual clients, staff also have weekly group meetings for teenage males and, at least twice a year, offers a ten-session anger management class for adult males.
