Mission: Ceed's mission is to ensure just and equitable climate, energy and environmental policy through education, advocacy and research.
Programs: Climate, energy and environmental policy. Ceed conducts research and policy analysis on energy and climate policy with a specific focus on equity. Policy engagement occurs at multiple levels and in partnership with grassroots communities, policy makers and researchers. This includes analysis of state energy policies and their distributive impacts across populations and comparative analyses of local initiatives. Ceed works with other non-profit organizations such as the union of concerned scientists and universities such as the new school to develop robust equity analytics. Community planning and restoration. Ceed conducts community workshops and trainings on environmental and energy issues and other relevant environmental topics. Ceed also provides technical assistance for community based organizations to support their work on energy services and affordability, sustainable community development, environmental health. Working with community organizations as partners, workshops include information on how to effectively engage in public commenting; how to improve energy efficiency in the home and small business; energy efficiency resources. Ceed also conducts trainings on how to access information from public data bases. We provide workshops and trainings on relevant topics and work with grassroots communities to develop and implement visionary and inclusive plans that tackle complex issues such as energy affordability, sustainable community development, environmental health, and youth engagement. Ceed uses participatory and community-based research models in collaboration with a wide-ranging group of researchers to develop high quality information and analysis. Popular education. Ceed recognizes that all communities and peoples have their own unique cultures and histories. We develop workshops and training modules on environmental justice (ej) issues to support building of community strengths, and to assist communities in reducing the unhealthy pollution impacts. This includes development of community-based education toolkits on energy and environmental issues.
