Programs: In 2017, activities increased significantly for c4aa, including an increased number of workshops, a new accelerator program, increased research activity, increased number of webinars and other resources available to the public, increased fundraising efforts, and increased marketing and communications outreach. Seven workshops were conducted serving 134 individuals (greenpeace staff school for creative activism, jan 2017, south africa workshop, may 2017, creative capital, nyc, may 2017, greenpeace, washington dc, april 2017, nea workshops, queens, new york, october 7-28 2017, osf arts exchange, brooklyn museum, brooklyn, ny, october 11-14, 2017, and in guinea, dec 2017. C4aa created the artistic activism accelerator program and conducted an 8-week accelerator project in seattle and produced a number of digital and material goods for that project. C4aa conducted research and completed research app prototypes. For the how to win book, c4aa completed text, designs of 3 initial chapters, 50% of illustrations, and tested and distributed materials from the books. C4aa awarded artistic activism mini-grants to 7 global artists and mentored those artists. C4aa gave 8 public talks and presentations, including at the united nations and the world forum for democracy. C4aa was a finalist for the wfd democracy innovation award. C4aa created and released 11 new training webinars available to the public for free, published over 20 newsletters and increased subscribers to over 2500, increased social media activity and increased followers by over 1200, published an article in a scholarly journal and published dozens of new examples of artistic activism and maintained our online database at actipedia. Org. C4aa promoted a managing director and increased hours for directors based on increased activity, and increased the number of grants applied for.
