Causes: Mental Health, Substance Abuse Prevention

Mission: The center for alcohol policy educates policymakers, regulators and the public about alcohol, its uniqueness and its regulation. By conducting sound research and implementing initiatives that will maintain the appropriate state-based regulation of alcohol, the center promotes safe and responsible consumption of alcohol, fights underage drinking and drunk driving and informs key entities and the public about the effects of alcohol consumption.

Programs: To educate policy makers, regulators and the public about alcohol, its unique attributes and the role of alcohol regulation. The center strives to educate the public about the system that regulates the responsible manufacture, distribution and sale of alcohol beverages to adults of legal drinking age. Projects include an annual legal symposium to explore current alcohol laws and challenges, a national essay contest to foster debate, analysis and examination of the importance of state based alcohol regulation, production of an educational video explaining the uk report, and a national survey to learn about american adults' attitudes on alcohol regulation. The center reprinted "towards liquor control" in order to provide those interested in effective state-based alcohol regulation with a historical perspective and an understanding of why the system remains important today.

the center for alcohol policy works to educate policy makers, regulators and the public about alcohol, its uniqueness and regulation. It educates through programs including a national survey on attitudes toward alcohol policy; a continuing legal education seminar; and a national essay contest. The center also sponsors special educational programs such as the bill of rights institute's "toast the constitution! " lesson plan which teaches students about the rise and fall of national prohibition.
