Mission: The Ceceilyn Miller Institute for Leadership and Diversity in America (CMI) is one of America's most innovative leadership and diversity training non-profit organizations. Dedicated to the cause of social justice and leadership development, CMI programs empower participants to function more effectively as people and communities.
Results: In the last four years, CMI has implemented an array of outreach services that include, but are not limited to: 1. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Empowerment Conference - A high school leadership program, in it's fourth year, aimed at educating students on how to be agents of social change. 2. National and State Anti-bullying Conference - This conference helps educators further understand the requirements of the new law and the steps that need to be taken in order to keep students safe. In addition to raising awareness and providing information about bullying, the conference focuses on evidence-based strategies and solutions for bullying, the role law enforcement plays in schools, and guidelines for putting together a comprehensive anti-bullying program in their school. 3. Suicide Prevention Programs - These programs help professionals learn how to identify risk factors and warning signs for youth suicide, interact appropriately with at-risk students, and make referrals to qualified school personnel as well as gain a practical understanding of the protective factors that can help reduce the risk of youth suicide.
