Causes: Education, Secondary & High Schools
Mission: The purposes of the corporation are: (a) to benefit, improve and promote the education and overall experience of the children of cathedral high school (the "school"), a girls' day school currently located at 350 east 56th street, new york, new york 10022; (b) to benefit the physical plant of the school; (c) to solicit donations of supplies and learning materials or contributions of funds, securities or other financial instruments for use in support of any of the purposes for which the corporation is formed; (d) to contribute to the educational and personal development of the school's students and to encourage student involvement in the local community; (e) to continue to support other educational institutions operated by the catholic high school association and its successors; and (f) to do any other act or thing incidental to, or connected with the foregoing purposes or the advancement hereof.
Programs: Cathedral spires foundation has a program service for scholarships and tuition assistance. In the fiscal year ended 8/31/2017, $1,127,781 was granted to cathedral high school for scholarship and tuition assistance for the students. This is our only and largest program that enables students from low income families, as well as students who achieve academically, to benefit from an excellent, private education. More than half of the students at cathedral high school received scholarships in fye 8/31/2017 as a result of the grant.
