Programs: The program of CASA Works, Inc. is CASA -- Court Appointed Special Advocates. We believe that every child deserves a safe, permanent home. In order to fulfill this mission, we recruit, train and supervise volunteers to advocate for abused children in the Juvenile Courts of Bedford and Coffee Counties. CASA Volunteers have the authority of the Juvenile Court to talk to all parties and interested people on behalf of the child. CASA will talk to parents, foster parents, family members, schools, therapists, doctors, anyone who has knowledge of the child. CASA Volunteers also participate in all meetings at school, in court, and with the Department of Children's Services on behalf of the child. By developing a relationship with the child and gathering all information, the CASA Volunteer provides a comprehensive report to the court to make recommendations of the best interest of the child. CASA keeps the needs of the child in the forefront of everyone's mind in a complicated social service system.
