Causes: Adult Education, Education, Literacy, Remedial Reading & Encouragement
Mission: The Carteret Literacy Council, founded in 1984, was formed because of the growing problem of illiteracy in our community. Through programs such as Headstart Storytellers, Books To Babies and our one-on-one tutoring services, our volunteer staff has made great strides in this area. In addition, we have recently expanded our free, confidential services to include elementary and high school tutoring.
