Mission: The carson valley trails association is a non-profit, volunteer based organizaion working with partners to provide access to public lands through a recreational trail system for present and future generations to enjoy.
Programs: In 2008, the carson valley trails association received a 396,378 question 1 grant from the nevada division of state lands for the development of the genoa foothill trail system project. While, work and environmental studies were performed in prior years, during 2011 the majority of the project was implemented creating a 16-mile, non-motorized, trail system that includes a 9-mile link between the carson valley foothills and the tahoe rim trail. This project was completed in 2012 and follows the douglas county comprehensive trials plan/map, created public access to national forest lands, constructed non-motorized linear and loop opportunities, and connected carson valley to the lake tahoe basin and tahoe rim trail.
