Mission: The central belief driving our mission is the recognition that all children, despite their disability or economic status, deserve to have basic needs met such as food, clothing and medical care, as well as the opportunity to enrich their souls and minds, allowing them to achieve their greatest potential.
Programs: Two mission trips to the yucatan region of mexico to bring in needed supplies & equipment for sponsored children. Medical mission team worked with families and local professionals training on therapy and care needs of children. Continued expansion of two small community centers called "casita corazon" where families bring children for therapy, stimulation activities, support group for mothers and for resources (diapers, supplement, medical supplies, adaptive equipment, clothing, personal care supplies, bedding, activity supplies). Provided training and support to newly formed "casita corazon" in the southern mayan zone. Continued in home & community based support for approximately 40 sponsored children including therapies & activities at the casitas and assistance with advocacy for local resources. Provided transportation and financial support for needed routine and emergency medical care of children. Sponsorship of christmas with gifts for all children in the family, clothing and a meal. 2016 building projects focused on repairs and adaptations to the two rental homes that house the two "casita corazon" centers. Held community events for families in each region of the yucatan throughout the year. Hosted 2 community outings for local families. Provided nutritional supplement, diapers, equipment, and feeding supplies to local families. Provided teaching and sensory materials for local special programs.
