Mission: Carolina correctional services, inc. (ccs) is a full service nonprofit agency dedicated to meeting the community safety needs of the public since 1995. We specialize in the design, implementation, and management of court-based rehabilitation and alternative education services. We also provide consultation services on an as requested basis. The genesis of this initiative was the introduction of several legislative efforts to allow for-profit bail bonding companies to benefit from the elimination of publicly funded and non-profit pre-trial service programs. The ccs board determined the pretrial service sector - comprised of government and non-profit programs - provided the best opportunity for service alternatives to incarceration to be explored while still maintaining supervision of the individual client within the community. This fact is in keeping with the original mission of ccs. Ccs currently provides the following support to ncpsa: technology research and web-site development.
Programs: Wake county contracted with carolina correctional services (ccs) for 78 units/slots, however required ccs to have a self-pay component for defendants who are eligible but have not yet migrated down into county contracted slots threshold. This allows for the gps monitoring of more than 78 eligible defendants at any one time thereby allowing the county to reduce its actual daily rate paid for the overall monitoring service benefit. Ccs managed and operated a turn-key service for the county which included staffing for both field work and a court liaison positions.
