Mission: CARES is a recognized national model that sets the standards for comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and knowledge. Because of our work, people are empowered to live with HIV/AIDS in a supportive community with access to the best care and research for a cure.
Results: -Adopted rapid HIV testing -Led area AIDS services organizations in an event to recognize Black AIDS Awareness Day -Provided a panel of speakers that addressed living issues with HIV for Black Family Week at UC Davis -Conducted HIV testing and provided HIV prevention information at Sacramento Black Expo and the Oak Park Health Fair -Provided HIV testing at migrant camps and health fairs -Developed outreach campaign directed at gay men -Spoke at 50 area schools in order to help approve the Positively Speaking Program in the Elk Grove School District
