Mission: To secure comprehensive medical care and provide basic financial assistance for individuals in need diagnosed with or at high risk for developing breast cancer.
Programs: Gateway to hope (gth) is a "clinic without walls" for individuals diagnosed with/at high risk of developing breast cancer. Gth nurse managers and a master social worker provide supportive services for patients. Services include care coordination, emotional support, education, referrrals to our partners/providers and implementation of our new insurance premium program. This innovative program assists individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment/reconstruction with payment of health insurance premiums. The program provides patients who are uninsured or underinsured direct access to comprehensive care through physicians/facilities of their choice. In 2014, gth served 196 new patients and 17 previously served patients totaling 213. Since inception, gth has served more than 689 patients.
