Mission: Formed on July 1 1998, Neighbor to Neighbor is the consolidation of Capitol Community Services and the Good Neighbor Foundation. Our mission is to build community vitality with individuals and families by providing resources for independent living.
Capitol Community Services was founded in 1945 to serve youth and families in the neighborhoods surrounding the Capitol and downtown St. Paul. Today Neighbor to Neighbor serves over 10,000 participants in the Twin Cities and selected south central Minnesota communities.
Good Neighbor Foundation was established in 1988 by Good Neighbor Inc. to realize the belief that nursing home companies have a responsibility to serve the wider community. Good Neighbor Foundation worked with seniors living in the community to maintain their highest level of independence and quality of life.
Neighbor to Neighbor provides social work services for individuals and families, and health and wellness support services for seniors and their caregivers. We operate three Food-shelves and manage programs in the areas of Crisis Intervention and Prevention, Family and Youth Services, Metro Area Senior Programs and Services, and Senior Program and Services in Greater Minnesota.
We strive to develop one-on-one relationships with our participants in order to increase their capacity to deal effectively with problems and teach them how to make full use of resources within the community.
