Mission: Our mission is to put an end to the cancers children and our canine best friends both develop - devastating cancers including bone and brain cancer, lymphoma and leukemia. Our goals are to raise awareness of the cancers that kids and canines share in common, funds for promising translational & comparative cancer research to accelerate the development of better medicines, and to foster critical collaborations to find a cure for both of these vulnerable patient groups.
Programs: The paws for a cure summit is a high profile meeting to discuss challenges and opportunities in developing innovative, integrated approaches to better medicines and a cure for the cancers children and canines both develop. Summit attendees included nearly 100 leading stakeholders from around the country. During the summit, panels of experts established recommendations and priorities for comparitive research.
the two by four race against childhood & canine cancer, a unique timed 5k race and un-timed 1 mile dog job/fun run, was run on october 1, 2017. Nearly 350 two and four-legged athletes participated to raise awareness and funding for cutting edge research in the cancers that kids and dogs both develop.
