Causes: International, International Relief
Mission: To break the cycle of poverty by providing orphaned and vulnerable children and their families with access to health care, education, vocational training, and the basic necessities of life such as nutrition and shelter.
Results: With over 80 students either already graduated or currently in post-secondary education, we strive to support the child all the way from grade school to full-time careers. Our trades school graduates 75 students each year and our 450 students from grade school to high school are happy, healthy and full of hope.
Target demographics: poverty stricken, vulnerable children
Direct beneficiaries per year: 450 children in 9 centers, with an addional 40 post-secondary students and 75 trades-training students.
Geographic areas served: Ethiopia and Uganda
Programs: allowing them to be successful in school by providing tuition, books and uniforms. Ensuring they're healthy by providing a meal a day, medical care and counselling and happy with extra-curricular activities and interaction with North American volunteers throughout the year.
