Programs: Camp fire afterschool is an outdoor adventure program provided to 1,039 underserved children in the austin, manor, and pflugerville school districts. Children explore the natural environment and learn first-hand about conservation and nature while increasing literacy and science knowledge.
camp fire teens engaged 269 teens in service-learning and leadership activities that support academic achievement and character development.
camp fire family nature clubs program is for kids from ages pre-school through high school and their families. A total of 491 children and their families experienced the outdoors to enjoy nature through activities the families choose from a host of outdoor experiences provided by community partners. Families spend quality time together while developing an appreciation for the outdoors and increasing their knowledge of the environment.
camp fire traditional scouting clubs are small co-ed groups of youth in kindergarten through high school who meet regularly with a trained adult volunteer who serves as mentor, role model and club leader. Youth learn to master skills that benefit them throughout their lives. A cornerstone of the camp fire experience is family involvement, including parents and siblings. A total of 91 children were served in this program. Camp fire's outdoor recreation program is open to all central texas families. A total of 234 children and adults learned new skills and experienced nature and the environment through a hiking club, backpacking club and paddling club. Each activity provides training and education in safety and outdoors skills.
