A phenomenal summer for my child! We are so excited to go back. We love that they included our camper who has Autism. He loved it and made great progress in his social skills and interacting with children his age. We are forever thankful to Camp Argo and the wonderful staff!

The owner of this camp does not treat staff very nicely. The owner starts off by telling you that you have to come to all of these trainings and then doesn't pay you for all of the hours you trained for! This is not cool at all. We don’t work for free!!
Some weeks the owner can just cut your hours even if you have a signed contract. The owner does this to all of his staff!
The HR director is a nurse and doesn’t know what she is doing because she is, after all, a nurse. The owner will single you out and make you feel useless and like the worst employee ever. The owner retaliates if you speak up. The owner will eventually have a CHRO complaint against the camp if the behavior towards his employees doesn’t stop.
I would be very weary about sending your child here. If the owner of not kind to an employee, imagine what your child has to deal with.

Our daughter has gone here since it has come to Connecticut. Every year she can’t wait to return. Last summer she had her cousins visiting from out of state join her at camp for a week. They loved it too! For us Camp Argo checked all the boxes we had for summer camp: Safe, fun, convenient schedule and location, and friendly faces.

Camp Argo is a blast: great setting and well-run with lots of fun activities that my kid enjoyed. It’s an intensively outdoor camp experience that you would expect from a sleepaway camp, but in a day camp minutes from New Haven. Recommend highly.

My kids (7 and 12) really enjoyed their time at Camp Argo last summer. It was their first experience of an all day outdoor camp. Though I was hesitant about them attending at first (because of the length of the day and the weather), it turned out that both kids really enjoyed being outdoors with other kids, engaged in activities that they otherwise would not have had the chance to do. My son found his new hobby by trying out archery there. Both my kids had never tried fishing nor canoeing, which they both got to do. The head staff made sure to communicate with parents if it was necessary as well as to notify of any changes to the routine/schedule due to rain. All staff were very friendly, caring, and approachable which made me feel more comfortable with the length of the day. Lastly, from the silly songs & chants sung daily to the sprinkler fun on super hot days, this camp kept my kids entertained, safe, and enjoying physical activity in the great outdoors throughout their weeks there. Thanks Camp Argo for giving them a great summer experience ! ( *they still remember and sing the camp songs at home!)

Worked here for many weeks as a counselor. All I can say is that if it weren't for my great relationships with coworkers and almost all the campers I would've left sooner. The owner of the business underpays his workers, manipulates them into thinking their mistakes are worse than they are and then to giving him more hours even after they've quit. He didn't give us a single break until the last week I was there and picks people out to talk to them alone so he could interrogate them easier. My issues with him don't stop there, he also treated the campers extremely poorly, often brushing them away as if they didn't mean anything or were just being pains to him. The older camper groups are also put to work with us, giving time in their day just to clean the camp even though it was our job. If I were a parent, I wouldn't dare let my kid go here, especially given the 250$ a week price. He gave us extensive training days and didn't pay us for a single one. He also found out we were upset and tricked us into signing something in the middle of the day which exempt him from it. Long story short, don't go here.
