The specific purpose for which the corporation is organized includes, but is not limited to, development and support of postgraduate rowing programs with the goal of improving the performance of the united states in world class and olympic rowing competitions.
Programs: The california rowing club (crc) has ongoing training at the oakland boathouse facility in support of the organization's mission of developing world-class u. S. Rowers. Crc had 45 rowers rowing out of the oakland estuary boathouse.

the california rowing club has participated in national and international regattas and races as part of the mission of developing world-class u. S. Rowers. Crc visited two regattas outside of the us, canadian henley in st. Catarines and henley in england. Crc participated at 16 races at canadian henley and finished in 14 races in the a final. Crc participated at one race at henley in great britain and the m4x (mens quadruple scull boat) reached the final and was beaten by the great britain national team. 6 members of crc have been invited for the mens sweep team selection for the rio olympic games 2016. 2 members (hans struzyna and mike desanto) rowed for the us (m8+) and finished fourth. 1 member (olivier siegelaar) rowed for the netherlands in the m8+ and finished 3rd. 1 member (nareg guregian) qualified for the olympics in rio for the mens pair and finished in the c-final. 1 member (kristen kit) coxed at the para olympic games in rio for canada and she won the bronze medal. 2 boats of crc tried out at the us rowing olympic trials but finished 2nd.
