I have been a member of the California Federation of women's clubs since 1964. I started as a Junior with a 6 month old baby. She grew up and became a Juniorette. My second daughter became a PTA President and both girls used the skills they watched me use during their growng years. They often played clubwoman (taking minutes, etc.) they became aware of the world, disabled, elderly, etc. They were ready to take on the world. They were unstoppable. Being a rolemodel for my girls was an important part of my clubwork. I made lifelong friends thru bridge and socials. The whole family was envolved at times with our projects.
I have spent a great deal of time volunteering in the Evening Stars Section. It's a great group and I always have fun while working on the projects. We meet once a month at night and we have a fundraiser every couple of months. It is so nice to contribute what little time I have to a charity that does great work in the community and has so much history.
