Causes: Food, Food, Agriculture & Nutrition
Mission: With our mission rooted in our non-profit restaurant, we've created a program designed for full service culinary training partnered with life skills courses that give students the confidence to have fulfilling futures as leaders in their community.
Programs: Non-profit restaurant & catering services - fifty students graduated and thirty seven returned to school or were placed in jobs in 2016.
cars for hope, which was discontinued in 2016, was a part of the program designed to help the students who did not have reliable transportation and whose families could not help them get to work after they were placed in jobs. Cafe hope accepted donated cars and had a volunteer force of mechanics who made all needed repairs. The cars were then sold to students who could show that they could afford them. The cars played an important part in getting the students better paying jobs in downtown new orleans. This program began in late 2013. One vehicle was donated in 2016. Three vehicles were repaired and sold to students in 2016.
