Mission: The organization's exempt purpose is to provide comprehensive housing services, through a community building approach, that will facilitate self sufficiency for individuals and families who are most lacking in opportunity in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties and adjacent areas in Los Angeles county.
Target demographics: Low income individuals and families secure safe and affordable housing
Geographic areas served: Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties
Programs: To provide safe, affordable rental opportunities to low-income, minority, and other disadvantaged individuals and families in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties and adjacent areas in Los Angeles county. The organization accomplishes this objective through its three divisions as follows: Resident and Community Services (RCS): CEDC community building and neighborhood revitalization team focuses on engaging people in the neighborhoods where they live. CEDC has and will continue to work to empower individuals, families and neighborhoods in shaping the physical, social and economic fabric of their communities. Real Estate Development (RED): CEDC RED division has built or rehabilitated more than 1,375 rental and for-sale homes, opening the doors to affordable, quality homes throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Property Management (PM): CEDC's goal is to meet the high demand for safe, decent and affordable homes for families, farmworkers and seniors. The PM division supports this effort by professionally managing our rental communities while offering quality living at its best. In total, PM division manages more than 1,300 affordable rental homes across 24 properties.
