Mission: Centerstone serves a diverse group of low-income families, seniors, immigrants, & people with disabilities throughout seattle. Specifically, centerstone's advocacy and programs assist people of all cultures to meet their food, housing, and financial education needs. Centerstone is committed to ending the cycle of urban poverty by helping families move towards stability and self-sufficiency.
Programs: Energy: provides low income seattle residents with grants to help offset heating costs and repair or replace furnaces, while also providing conservation education to help lower future energy costs. In 2014, centerstone served 9,469 households representing 19,883 individuals in the energy assistance program.
food bank: serving a very diverse population, centerstone's food bank provides nutritious, fresh food to low income residents across seattle. In 2014, centerstone distributed nearly 970,000 pounds of food to 79,543 clients through the help of over 8,300 volunteer hours.
financial education: the program addresses the financial struggles of those living in poverty in our community by providing them with the tools to stabilize their situation, education on how to manage their personal finances effectively, and how to help them reduce debt.
