Programs: The buchanan county wildlife association was formed to continue the heritage of wildlife by providing recreational opportunities for our members and focusing on youth wildlife education. Our grounds provide a place for safe range archery, a public shooting range, shooting of trap skeet, sporting clays, as well as a pond to fish (catch and release only). The local boy scouts camp on our grounds to study native grasses and we sponsor a fish iowa day for all area 5th graders to learn about fishing. We also work in conjunction with the buchanan county conservation commission to seek out and purchase land to be used for conservation purposes. We teach hunter's education classes and provide an annual scholarship for a student studying the conservation field.
