Programs: Brooklyn boatworks operated seven boat building programs, working with a total of seventy-two new york city school students spanning grades 6-10. Students learned basic construction and tool skills, applied measurement and estimation, local waterway geography, nautical chart reading, the physics of sailing. Brooklyn boatworks emphasizes cooperation, perseverance, craftsmanship, and the benefits of learning by doing.
