Mission: The mission of Broken Oaks is to take in abused, neglected, or unwanted horses from private or public sources in order to rehabilitate, provide them with proper careand to prevent them from being slaughtered. Example of but not limited to private would be horse owners that can no longer care for the horse for whatever reason. Example of but not limited to public could be impoundment by sheriff office in cases of abuse or neglect. We also serve as an adoption agency to place horses that we have rehabilitated with qualified persons. Another focus of ours is to educate the public, with emphasis on children, on proper care, nutrition, and responsibilities of animal ownership.
