Causes: Group Homes, Human Services
Mission: Improve the quality of people's lives through the following human services: day and residential services for those with developmental disabilities and brain injuries; behavioral health services; housing and essential services; services for children; youth & family; hiv services; and elderly services.
Programs: Developmental disabilities and brain injury support approximately 1,100 individuals with developmental disabilities and brain injuries to live in homes in the community, attend day habilitation programs or find appropriate employment. Plans of care are based on each individual's varying levels of ability, with the goal of attaining a greater level of self-sufficiency. Some residential locations include 24-hour nursing care.
mental health programs; provide outpatient mental health counseling to approximately 1,800 individuals at a clinic, in outreach locations, or as in-home therapy. Additional services for approximately 297 individuals also includes residential homes and independent living support for those with mental health challenges; employment support; and therapeutic day programs. Services are also provided to approximately 1072 youth with mental health challenges and their families.
public health programs provide early intervention for approximately 900 children form birth to age 3 and nutritional assistance to approximately 17,846 individuals and families. Confidential hiv case management and prevention for high-risk populations is also provided to approximately 2,066 individuals and their families.
elderly services, inclduing a congregate living home, senior center, and various outreach programs, provide service to approximately 3,200 senior citizens. Social services programs include an information and referral program and housing assistance for approximately 5,506 individuals. Therapeutic mentoring for 120 families. Child abuse advocacy services for 47 families.
