Mission: Through the effective reuse of donated items, bridging improves lives by providing quality furniture and household goods to those transitioning out of homelessness and poverty.
Programs: Bridging provides families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty with a gift of quality furniture and household goods to stabilize and improve lives while effectively using community resources. Bridging serves more than 4,000 clients per year; half of the people served are children. Through its two warehouse locations in the twin cities, bridging serves clients in the 11-county metro area with a dedicated team of 30 staff members and the full-time equivalency of 39 staff members from just under 6,000 volunteers. Through the power of recycling, bridging is able to keep millions of pounds of items out of the waste stream each year by giving these items away to clients, passing them along to other nonprofits and organizations that can use them, or selling them through our estate store. Bridging also provides internships for individuals at risk for unemployment and opportunities for court-ordered service hours.
