We have a weekly food pantry, a free medical clinic, kids ministries, and a Billy Graham phone center. Mission: To share christ with others through serving those in need in the brazos valley and surrounding areas or wherever god leads and to bridge the gap by joining churches & other groups in serving together.
Programs: Every sunday night: sunday night bible study with announcement and updates of what is going on at the bridge and dinner and fellowship time afterwards. Every tuesday: volunteers meet to sack food for the food pantry, including student groups from texas a&m, community groups, sunday school classes and many individuals. Every thursday: the food pantry serves 60-120 households each week. Volunteers are from local churches, student groups and community organizations. The bridge operates a billy graham phone center on two tuesdays and two fridays of each month. 10-20 volunteers from multiple churches and individuals volunteer. The phone calls include helping people with spiritual matters, other life issues, and taking prayer requests. The free medical clinic is held at the bridge on the 1st and 3rd tuesdays every month. Five or more doctors and many nurses as well as other volunteers come to help. Prayer volunteers pray for and with the clients that come. The clinic sees around 35-40 patients every week. Volunteers include nursing students, as well as pre-med and other students from texas a&m and blinn college. Sowers meet on monday & wednesday from 5-7 p. M. In the fall months to hold a childrens ministry. About 15 volunteers help students with their homework, teach them a bible lesson, and play with them. Our produce pantry is held on the 1st friday of each month. We distribute 10 pallets of fresh produce to local families from 11 a. M. 12:30 p. M. Christmas store volunteers purchase brand new and high quality clothes, toys, and shoes for children in need for our food pantry parents to then shop for their children. The parents then were able to pick out three items they wanted to give each of their children and purchase the items for about 20% of what the original cost was. This was an empowering opportunity and it gave many people some self-worth in having the opportunity to purchase the gifts.
