As a volunteer with the State Health Insurance Benefits Advisors, more and more often we need to refer women to resources for breast cancer advice, treatment and support. I've lost track of the number of times I've referred to them, knowing that all clients receive the kind of loving support most needed. The Breast Cancer Resource Center is one of Tacoma's shining jewels.
The women at The Breast Cancer Resource Center work tirelessly in supporting the breast cancer community in Tacoma. It is not unlikely to see one of their officers working on the 4th of July at a community event to share their services and raise awareness. Or to see them bringing a new event to the community as a fund raiser. So not only are they raising breast cancer awareness in the community; they are stimulating culture within the community. It's totally a win-win deal to have them in Tacoma. The support and love that they are able to provide is unmeasurable. I truly appreciate their availability for support to our community as a whole. But especially the work they do for the Breast Cancer Fighters.
I have had the pleasure of volunteering a few hours each week at this wonderful non-profit organization. I have to say that working at the BCRC has been a true blessing. I am amazed at the women who enter through the doors, their stories they have shared, and the strength that they have. I am even more amazed and blown away by the amazing women who staff the center. These truly are some of the best women I have had the priveledge of meeting. I have never seen a place care so much about their clients or work so hard to ensure their needs are met. Our world is better for places like the Breast Cancer Resource Center and I have a stong testament that it is places like this and the women who staff it, that give women the courage, strength, and information to combat such a scary disease.
Thank you for doing what you do :)
I myself have visited the breast cancer resource center to see what they offer and was I ever surprised, they have so many great classes and opportunities. I went into the back room and saw the wigs and hats and was told about the women they help! I was very moved with emotion as I looked around and realized what an amazing place this is! Thank you to all the women that are there to support those with cancer, its a wonderful thing that you do!
