Mission: To serve women and men in the community by providing easy access to support and information about breast cancer and to enhance the quality of life for survivors, family and friends.
Programs: One hundred fifty people attended the breast cancer education conference on oct. 7, 2017 at the ties conference center in st. Paul. This all-day conference featured renowned breast health experts sharing information on breast cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship. In addition, the conference offered a resource center where local breast health organizations provided information on breast health products, resource organizations and a variety of services. A new addition this year was a mobile mammography van onsite. The bcea is committed to making this conference available to anyone who is looking for education and resources on breast health. Scholarships were given to attendees who could not afford the cost of registration to this conference. The annual bcea education conference fills a desperate need for providing information and education to breast cancer patients and their families. Conference programming crosses all boundaries and supports a variety of healing philosophies and possibilities from surgical options and the latest updates to mind, body and spirit practices. The bcea also provided six free education webinars to more than 100 people throughout the year, and ongoing resources, support and information to anyone who contacted our office or co-founders in 2017. Furthermore, bcea exhibited at several events throughout the year to provide information and resources to the general public on breast cancer.
